CRM Training

In April, we embarked on an exciting journey with the implementation of our new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system - HubSpot.

Anthony Knox, our Chief Marketing Officer, Shraddha Shetty, our Global Head of Digital Strategy and Digital Business Development, and Ubed Mohammad, our Global Learning and Development Manager, initiated introductory training sessions for our global CRM super users. These sessions focused on the strategic launch, implementation, and comprehensive training plans.

In May and June, we conducted extensive in-person CRM training across the company. Ubed Mohammad travelled to our North American offices to lead these sessions, providing hands-on training and engaging in strategic Learning and Development discussions with office leaders. He was joined by Anushree Dalvi, our Project Manager for the HubSpot launch, who visited the Canada offices. These visits proved highly productive, ensuring our super users were well-equipped with the new CRM system. Similar in-person trainings were conducted with the superusers from our London and Kuala Lumpur offices.

Additionally, our team extended their efforts to various APAC and EMEA offices, employing a mix of virtual and in-person training sessions. This approach ensured comprehensive coverage and consistent training across all regions, reinforcing our commitment to a seamless and strategic CRM implementation company-wide.

Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm as we advance our digital transformation initiatives.

Linguarama

With deep sadness, we share the news that our beloved Linguarama colleague, Laura Scott, passed away on Monday, 15 July. As many of you know, her cancer returned earlier this year. Despite the best efforts of Laura and her medical team, treatment was unfortunately unsuccessful.

Laura was head of Linguarama UK and Linguarama Group functions. She also managed client accounts for the Linguarama Düsseldorf centre which is where she got her start as a trainer in the business language training industry in the early 1990s.

Laura was a person of remarkable dedication and unwavering commitment to her work. She loved her job, and her enthusiasm and energy were truly inspirational. She approached each task with a level of professionalism and passion that was both admirable and motivating to all who had the privilege of working with her. Her presence brought positivity and encouragement to the team, even during challenging times.

Laura appreciated  the support from the team throughout her illness, drawing strength from the kindness and encouragement she received. Her absence leaves a profound void in our hearts, in our Group and within our centre in Düsseldorf. We will greatly miss her. Laura’s family and close friends said goodbye to her in a small private ceremony.

According to Laura’s family’s wish, in lieu of flowers the marcus evans Group has donated to Cancer Research UK.

Operations Updates

North America:

The last few months have been quite busy for North America! We ended the first half of 2024 with quite a few events taking place all over the country including Dallas, South Carolina, Boston, Los Angeles and Chicago. All events were very successful with various highlights but the “Ring for Wine” wall seemed to be a recurring theme at our events and the main attraction for our evening receptions. What’s next? You will need to wait for the next newsletter where we will be featuring exciting things from our fall of events such as the privatisation of Rodeo Drive for our upcoming PWM Summit in Beverly Hills!

Event highlights for European & Japanese Summits:

In EMEA our flagship events Elite & EPI May once again took the spotlight. Our themed “Dine and Dazzle (wear something white) Evening Reception” took place in the gardens of the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace and was a big hit. Great ambience, food and music coupled with Lake Geneva and the Swiss Alps made this evening truly exceptional.

In Japan, the second quarter was met with a number of successfully run events ending the first half with our HR Japan Summit which hosted a bingo night. A fresh idea for entertainment which was very well received by all attendees that were highly engaged in anticipation of winning great prizes.

Event Highlights for APAC Summits:

The APAC Summits team has run a successful PWM APAC Summit at the beautiful Pan Pacific Singapore in May.

After a couple of weeks break without summits, we are now ready and excited for our upcoming two Australian summits this August, the Australian CIO Summit and the CMO ANZ Summit. Amongst two fantastic conference programmes with many hot topics, the highlights will be the Backyard BBQ at the CIO Summit and our evening to celebrate the upcoming Olympic Summer Games at the CMO Summit. We are also looking forward to launching the ME+ App in the Australian market at both events.
